PURPOSE:To start the title motor surely even when a load, not capable of being started by (n-1)-phase excitation (n is the integer of 2 or more), is applied to the motor, by a method wherein a rotor is rotated by (n)-phase excitation upon starting instead of starting by (n-1)-phase excitation. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 21 inputs a pivoting position detecting signal from an encoder 12 and calculates the pivoting position of a carriage moving motor 8 based on the pivoting position detecting signal. A control signal, for rotating the motor 8 step by step, is outputted from the CPU 21 into a driving circuit 24. When a load, which can not be started by (n-1)-phase excitation having small driving torque, is applied on the motor 8 upon starting, the rotor is rotated by (n)-phase excitation instead of starting by (n-1)-phase excitation whereby the motor may be started surely. |
