PURPOSE:To enable an overwrite without necessitating erase operation by deciding the information recording method of a sector by reading the sector information, recorded in a data control area, and executing the switching of an external impressing magnetic field and ON/OFF of the delay of a record data pulse, correspondingly to the information of the data control area. CONSTITUTION:By deciding the information recording method of the sectors 52, 53, by means of reading the information of the sectors 52, 53, recorded in the data control area 35, existing on a magneto-optical recording medium, and by executing the switching of the external impressing magnetic field and the ON/OFF of the delay of the record data pulse, correspondingly to the information of the data control area 35, the overwrite can be executed without necessitating the erase operation. However, one sector, at least, of every track of the data control area is qualified to carry the record of the sector information of the participant track. Thus, the information can be recorded at a real time by using only one optical pickup, without necessitating the erase operation. |
