PURPOSE:To count accurately the executing frequency of instructions without giving an excessive load to a program by storing the read-out frequency to a storage device provided for each instruction every time a CPU reads an instruction out of a main storage device and executes it. CONSTITUTION:A CPU2 designates the address of a main storage device 1 via an address bus B1 and reads an instruction via a data bus B2 to execute it. Multiplexers 4 and 6 are connected to the side (b) in the diagram before the CPU2 executes a program, and the contents of a memory 3 are previously cleared. Then the multiplexers 4 and 6 are connected to the side (a) while the CPU2 is executing a program. The executing frequency of instructions is counted up to the memory 3 every time the CPU2 executes an instruction. In such a way, it is possible to count the executing frequency of instructions through a simple circuit constitution and without giving an excessive load to the program. |
