PURPOSE:To improve cooling performance, by forming fans at both the ends of a rotor, to be axial-flow fans having a circular pipe discharging no pressure in the centrifugal direction, outside a blade, and by arranging two fans to permit cooling air to flow from the side of a diode to the counter side. CONSTITUTION:An axial-flow cooling fan 1b on the rear side absorbes cooling air passing the ventilation flue of A, and has an action pushing the cooling air into a rotor. By the cooling air, a commutator 9 set on the rear side is cooled, and after that, a field winding 3 and a stator coil 5 are cooled. Besides, a front axial-flow cooling fan 1a absorbes air at a rotor section and cooling air passing the ventilation flues of B, C, and the absorbed air is discharged on the external side D of a front bracket D. Then, the stator coil 5 and the field winding 3 are cooled. Said two axial-flow fans 1a, 1b are arranged so that the cooling air may be permitted to flow from the rear side to the front side by both the fans, and so the mutual actions are reciprocated, and cooling is further promoted.
