PURPOSE:To provide a simple and inexpensive structure capable of utilizing energy possessed by waves for generating electric power, by disposing a box-like member under the water surface in front of a breakwater, and ejecting sea water in the internal space of the box-like member from pipes by causing vibration of a rubber film attached to the front face of the box-like member by the force of waves. CONSTITUTION:A frame consisting of a top plate 3 and opposite side walls 4 is disposed under the water surface in front of a breakwater 1, a hollow space 6 is defined in the frame by attaching a rubber film 5 to the front face of the frame. The side wall 4 has a flap valve 7 which permits water flow only from the outside to the inside of the frame. At the back of the frame, there are disposed pipes 8, one ends of which are opened in said hollow space 6. A check valve 9 is provided at an intermediate portion of each pipe 8, and the other ends of the pipes 8 are opened above a water reserving tank 10 which is installed at a position located above the surface of sea water. Further, a genarator 11 and a water turbine 12 are installed downwardly of the tank 10, and a conduit 13 is extended from the tank 10 to the water turbine 13. With such an arrangement, the generator 11 is driven by causing vibration of the rubber film 5 by the wave force and delivering water in said hollow space 6 to the water turbine 12. |
