<p>A concrete screed rail having generally parallel spaced top and bottom edges (1,3), at least the upper one (1) of which is provided with a finished surface, and wherein a mesh reinforcement (19) is located in a web portion (5) extending between the top and bottom edge regions, there being at least one and preferably a plurality of recesses (17) in the web portion(s) of the rail across which said mesh reinforcement (19) extends, and wherein the apertures in the mesh reinforcement (19) in the recesses (17) are closed off by a thin layer of fine concrete of about the same thickness as the mesh reinforcement (19), which layer is supported by the reinforcement (19). The screed rail may be in the form of a straight beam of I-section (Fig.3) or alternatively of generally L-shaped cross-section (Figs. 4 & 5). If desired, additional reinforcement (13 or 23) is incorporated in the rail.</p> |
