PURPOSE:To increase the photosensitivity of a photosensitive body and to improve the spectral sensitivity up to a longer wavelength by incorporating a specified perylene pigment into the photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:A perlyene pigment represented by formula I (where R is alkyl, alkoxy, H, halogen or the like and n=0-3) is incorporated into a photosensitive layer. The pigment can be synthesized by condensing perylenetetracarboxylic acid dianhydride with a phenetylamine deriv. represented by formula II by dehydration in an org. solvent inert to the reaction. The perylene pigment may be dispersed in a binder so as to obtain a single layer type photosensitive body. The electric charge generating layer of a laminate type photosensitive body may be formed with the pigment by vacuum deposition or coating. |
