PURPOSE:To ensure the normally regular motion of a converter, by a method wherein, in the oil pressure generating mechanism of a small heating engine sued for an artificial heart, two one-way valves are mounted to the piston of the converter having a chamber on which actuating gas fluctuating in a pressure is exerted. CONSTITUTION:A converter 6 on which actuating gas is exerted fluctuating in gas is exerted through the motion of a displacer piston 4 of a starling engine is provided to the upper part with an actuating gas chamber 8 partitioned by a power bellows 7 and oil pump chamber 9. Further, the converter has a converter piston 10 on which an oil pressure in an oil pump chamber 9 is exerted, and an oil chamber 12 with a buffer 11 is partitioned by the piston 10. In this case, the converter piston 10 is provided with a second one-way valve 24 in addition to a conventional one-way valve 14. This constitution enables surplus oil in the chamber 9 to be returned in the oil chamber 12 when a total sum of the pressure of the oil chamber 12 and the energizing force of a spring 28 is not balanced with pressure in the oil pump chamber 9. |
