PURPOSE:To secure a high supercharging effect by both resonance and inertial effects over the whole rotational area by setting up two ON-OFF valves in a surge tank as keeping the specified interval and, when these valves are closed together, constituting a space between these valves to be interconnected to each space other than these valves. CONSTITUTION:Each of first and second independent suction passage groups 3p and 3q being interconnected each of first and second cylinder groups are connected to both side walls 2p and 2q extending in the longitudinal direction of a surge tank 1 in order toward a rear end 1t from a front end 1s respectively. In a space part inside the surge tank 1, these are provided with both first and second ON-OFF valves 6 and 9 via each of first and second valve stems 5 and 8 extending over the longitudinal overall length of the surge tank 1 each. When these ON-OFF valves 6 and 9 both are closed, a space part to be formed between these valves is interconnected to each of first and second chambers 14 and 17 via both first and second interconnecting parts 12 and 15, thereby forming an interconnecting passage 18 extending in the longitudinal direction of the surge tank 1.
