PURPOSE:To obtain the title zeolite whose color is not changed with the lapse of time by substituting a part or the whole of the ion exchangeable ion in zeolite for an NH4 ion and an antibacterial metal ion. CONSTITUTION:(A) Synthetic or natural zeolite such as A-, X-, Y-, and T-type high-silica zeolite, sodalite, mordenite, analcime, clinoptilolite, chabazite, or erionite is brought into contact with (B) a mixed soln. contg. an antibacterial metal ion selected from Ag, Cu, Zn, Hg, Sn, Pb, Bi, Cd, Cr, and Tl or an NH4 ion at 10-70 deg.C for 3-24hr, pH is controlled to 3-10, as necessary, and a part or the whole of the ion-exchangeable ion in the A component is substituted for the B metal ion so that the content of the B metal ion is controlled to 0.1-15%. After the ion exchange is finished, the obtained zeolite is washed with water, and then dried at atmospheric pressure and at 105-115 deg.C.
