摘要 <p>The appliance consists of: - a transmitting circuit (10) comprising an optical transmitter (17) and electrical control means (11, 12, 14, 16) suitable for applying an electrical pulse train to the transmitter. The pulse train contains pulses with alternately small and large amplitudes, the ratio R between the large and small light amplitudes being adjustable; - a receiving circuit (20) comprising a signal input (21) suitable for connection to the optical receiver (30) on which measurements are to be made, two switches (22, 23) and two channels (24, 25). One channel is adjusted to have a low sensitivity and the other is adjusted to have a high sensitivity, the ratio between the high and low sensitivities also being equal to R; - an oscilloscope (28) displaying the traces of the two signals.
