<p>PURPOSE:To permit the operation of a prime mover with the optimum efficiency, by a method wherein an induction machine is driven directly by the prime mover while the generating voltage of the induction machine is converted so as to have desired voltage and frequency by an inverter,. CONSTITUTION:When a turbine is rotated, an induction machine 11 is rotated at the same rotating speed as the speed of the turbine 1. Then, a first inverter 12 is constituted so that it is controlled by an inverter control device 12A so as to oscillate with a frequency slightly higher than the rotating speed of the turbine 1, therefore, the induction machine 11 effects electric power generation as an induction generator. A second inverter 13 converts the generated electric power into an alternating current having commercial or specified voltage and frequency, thereafter, outputs the power. According to this method, a prime mover may be operated at a speed capable of obtaining the optimum efficiency.</p> |
