PURPOSE:To obtain a stable clear image which has the excellent mechanical strength, sticking property and moisture resistance property by using a cured resin having <=2wt.% an org. solvent extract as a sealing material. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is formed by inserting an electric optical modulating substance 3 between a 1st and a 2nd substrates through a sealing member 8. In the titled device, the cured resin having <=2wt.% the org. solvent extract is used for the sealing material 8. And, the org. solvent extract of the sealing material is preferably <=1.0wt.%. Thus, the cured resin has the excellent sticking force and mechanical strength and has the function of sufficiently preventing faulty display or abnormal tone, thereby improving the display quality of the titled device.
