PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of photosynthesis of vegetable and to increase the yield of potato, by treating potato with one or more choline salts such as choline phosphate and choline chloride. CONSTITUTION:The solar energy fixing function of green vegetable can be promoted and the yield of potato can be increased by applying 50-200g of one or more choline salts (e.g. choline bitartrate and dihydrogen choline citrate) to 10 are of a potato field. The choline salt is applied to the leaf and stalk of the potato in the form of aqueous solution having active component concentration of 100-20,000ppm, preferably 300-10,000ppm. The choline salt may be mixed with liquid fertilizer, insecticide, fungicide, foliar application agent, etc. The application stage of the choline salt is preferably between the flow bud appearing stage and 2 weeks before the yellowing stage.
