PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as a medicine in high purity, by reacting chlorophyllin with a divalent cobalt salt by a specific method to afford a cobaltichlorophyllin complex compound, then reacting with a thiamine by a specific method. CONSTITUTION:First, an anhydrous acetic acid solution of chlorophyllin (chlorin e6) is reacted with am divalent cobalt salt in the presence of exygen and the reaction mixture is distilled to recover the reaction product cobaltichlorophyollin complex compound (hereinafter referred to as the complex compound). Then, into an alcohol solution of the complex compound, is added an alcohol solution of thiamine in a ratio of <=2mol. based on 1mol. complex compound and reacted at pH 7-11, followed by removing the alcohol from the reaction mixture. Subsequently, the obtained solid residue is dissolved into an alcohol containing 30-70% water and the resultant solution is subjected to hydrophobic porous polymer chromatography and gel filtration to afford the aimed compound coordinating 1mol. thiol type thiamine with 1mol. complex compound.
