PURPOSE:To perform quick and continuous revising actions by displaying many retrieving images on many pictures and designating repetitively the images on the picture to register new images. CONSTITUTION:Conditions are designated via a keyboard 4 and an optical disk drive 3 is retrieved under the control of a main body part 1 for selection of a document in response to said conditions. Then six image indexes, for example, of the head page of the selected document are displayed on a display 2 (29) by a point designation type device 5. An image to be revised is selected out of the display 2 and displayed 2. Then the images to be revised and registered are read and displayed 2 via a microreader 6 and an image reader 7. Then a revision/register instruction is delivered via the keyboard 4 and the images are registered in an optical disk 3. This processing is carried out as required. In such a way, the quick and continuous revising actions are carried out with use of the retrieving images.
