<p>PURPOSE:To improve the connecting efficiency with a diagram connecting device by connecting only the break areas of an input diagram. CONSTITUTION:The background picture elements of an input image f0 are thinned by the desired number of steps by a background pattern thinning circuit 1. Then a width (1)-gap filling circuit 2 converts a picture element area of the line width into the picture elements on a line. Thus an image f2 is obtained. Then the picture elements on a line of the image f2 are thinned by a joint picture element detecting circuit 3 by the desired number of steps. While the picture elements around the picture elements on a line of the image f0 are obtained by a joint candidate detecting circuit 4 via logical arithmetic carried out between the image f2 and the inverted image f0 for detection of a joint candidate area. The picture elements are thickened within the joint candidate area and synthesized into an input image.</p> |
