A process for preparing new analogues of arachidonic acid of formula (I): <IMAGE> or a salt of the same, where Y is a -O(CH2)mCH, -(CH2)mCH or -CH=C group where m is a whole number from 1 to 5, n is a whole number from 4 to 12, R1 and R2, which may be the same or different, represent hydrogen or C1-6 alkyl, X represents a double or triple bond, and each one of A and B represents hydrogen when X is a double bond, or A and B are absent when X is a triple bond, which is useful in the treatment of allergic diseases.
