PURPOSE:To realize large-capacity data transmission and reception without changing an ordinary data communication method, by changing the form of data transmission at the time of ordinary transmission when large-capacity transmission is performed. CONSTITUTION:The main body 21 of an image recorder is connected with plural additional devices 24 connected to the main body 21 by means of common serial lines 22 and 23 and data transmission is usually performed by performing time division on each frame between the main body side and plural additional devices. When ordinary data transmission is performed, the main body side discriminates whether or not the data transmission in a time division basis is necessary and, when it is discriminated that no data transmission in a time division basis is specially required, the route between specific one of the additional devices 24 and main body 21 is used exclusively for large-capacity data transmission. Therefore, large-scale data transmission can be performed within a relatively short time without causing no trouble in the operation of the image recorder itself. |
