The invention relates to the recovery of silver from mineral wastes. The invention relates to a process according to which during the operation of leaching zinc sulphide minerals chemical zinc sulphide is aggregated in order that the silver salts become preferably attached to this zinc sulphide. This is continuously separated from the zinc- poor waste by floatation. In this way the flotation foam is rich in silver which can easily be recovered.
