NEW MATERIAL:A basic peptide based antibiotic substance TAN-865-A, B or C or salt thereof, having 2,3-diaminopropionic acid (4mol.), L-phenylalanine (1mol.) and threonine (1mol.) as constituent amino acids and capable of exhibiting the following physico-chemical properties. TAN-865A; Appearance; white solid. Molecular formula; C35H55N11O8. TAN-865B; Appearance; white solid. Molecular formula; C36H57N11O8. TAN-865C; Appearance; white solid. Molecular formula; C36H57N11O9, etc. USE:An antibacterial agent against Gram-negative bacteria. PREPARATION:A microorganism, belonging to the genus Cytophaga and having the ability to produce the antibiotic substance TAN-865A, B or C [e.g. Cytophaga sp. MK-30 strain (FERM P-9345)] is cultivated, preferably at 10-28 deg.C and pH 5-9 for 24-144hr. |
