PURPOSE:To enhance mass production efficiency and operation efficiency by fixing the sides of a plurality of linear materials with a hanging member to hang the linear materials nearly vertically and parallel and specifying the intervals of the linear materials with a member for maintaining the intervals in the other sides and performing coating. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of linear materials 1 such as a refractive index distribution type rod lens are hung nearly vertically and parallel by fixing the sides of the linear materials 1 with a hanging member 3 and coated films are formed on the surfaces of linear materials 1. In this case, while specifying the intervals of the linear materials 1 with at least one piece of means 5 for maintaining the intervals in the other sides, coating is performed. As a result, the problem of bonding among the linear materials which can not be solved in a conventional method is solved and mass production efficiency and operation efficiency can be enhanced.
