PURPOSE:To improve the contrast of a color image on a fluorescent screen section by using the light sent to the screen panel section side from index phosphor stripes and the light sent to the front panel section side and reflected by a metal reflecting layer. CONSTITUTION:Multiple index phosphor stripes I are arranged at the preset distance from each other on the inner face of the screen panel section 13 of a fluorescent screen section 21, and a metal reflecting layer 31 covering the index phosphor stripes I and the inner face of the screen panel section 13 between them is provided. Multiple color phosphor stripes B, G, R are arranged on the metal reflecting layer 31 with the preset pattern not to be located on the index phosphor stripes I. Light absorbing material stripes S are arranged and formed between the color phosphor stripes B, G, R on the metal reflecting layer 31 not to be located on the index phosphor stripes I. The generation of the fluorescent screen section is thereby made relatively easy, and the contrast of a color image on the fluorescent screen section is improved.
