PURPOSE:To improve heat resistance without degrading performances such as transparency and lower refractive index characteristic by using a resin compsn. prepd. by blending 5-70pts.wt. vinylidene fluoride copolymer with 100pts.wt. vinylidene fluoride/hexafluoroacetone/tetrafluoroethylene copolymer as a sleeve component. CONSTITUTION:The blended compsn. of a flexible light transmission fiber consisting of a core and sleeve, i.e., a polymer clad optical fiber consisting of a quartz or glass fiber as a core and the resin compsn. of a fluorine system as a sleeve is used in the 4-70pts.wt. range per 100pts.wt. vinylidene fluoride/ hexafluoroacetone/tetrafluoroethylene copolymer. Since both have excellent compatibility, a transparent coating is obtd. simply by evaporating an org. solvent after coating. The heat resistance is thereby improved without degrading the performances such as, for example, transparency and lower refractive index characteristic. |
