PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fiber having skin-core structure, outstanding in knot strength and flexural resistance, with unique gloss and touch, by spinning a spinning stock solution of specific reduced viscosity containing acrylonitrile and comonomer to make undrawn yarn which is then washed followed by drawing in a heating medium at specified temperatures. CONSTITUTION:First, a spinning stock solution is prepared by dissolving in a solvent, a copolymer with a reduced viscosity (determined at 25 deg.C in the form of DMF solution of 0.5g/100ml concentration) >=0.2, from >=30wt.% of acrylonitrile and an unsaturated monomer coplymerizable therewith, so that the polymer concentration is 0.1-50wt.%. Thence, this solution is brought to wet spinning or dry-wet spinning to coagulate the polymer, which is then washed with a washing solution followed by drawing the resultant yarn by a factor of 1.1-10 in a heating medium at temperatures ranging from the boiling point of said washing solution (Tb) deg.C-(Tb+100) deg.C to form the skin 1 and core 2 in the fiber section, thus obtaining the objective fiber.
