PURPOSE:To obtain a drug for administration through body cavity, effective in promoting the absorption of 2',4'-difluoro-4-hydroxy-3-biphenylcarboxylic acid (an anti-inflammatory analgesic antipyretic agent) through mucosa and improving bioavailability of the compound, by compounding a hydrogenated phospholipid to an oily substrate. CONSTITUTION:The objective agent for administration through body cavity can be produced by dispersing (A) 5-25pts.wt., preferably 15-25pts.wt. of the above compound of formula (general name: diflunisal) in a mixture of (B) 100pts.wt. of an oily substrate and (C) 0.1-10pts.wt., preferably 1-8pts.wt. of a hydrogenated phospholipid. The bioavailability of diflunisal through the mucosa of rectum, cavity, oral cavity of nose, etc., can be improved and the side effects appearing in the conventional oral administration can be avoided. The agent can be easily prepared, has high compatibility to the mucosa of living body and exhibits excellent absorbability of diflunisal.
