The fastener secures a roof panel section in position and comprises a shoe with a strip (4) for fixing to a floor or beam (2) and having an edge (6) bent upwards through a set angle. A plate (7) fixed to the panel (1) has a protrusion (8) hooking over the strip edge. There can be a bent intermediate portion (5) between the strip edge and its portion fixed to the floor, and a stud on the panel plate, passing through an elongated hole (9a) in a locking plate (10) secured by a nut (9b) so as to prevent the panel plate moving sideways in relation to the shoe.
