PURPOSE:To enhance thermal sensivity, by providing a plasticizer in or on an ink layer of a thermal sublimation transfer sheet to accelerate gasification of a sublimable dye and enhance property for contact adhesion of the ink layer with a receiving sheet. CONSTITUTION:With a plasticizer provided in an ink layer, a solid particulate dye as a sublimable dye is softened by the action of the plasticizer, thereby lowering the intermolecular forces of the dye and enabling easy gasification. Also, a binder is softened through mixing with the plasticizer, thereby enabling easy release of a dye gas. With the plasticizer present at the surface of contact with a receiving sheet, the property for contact of the ink layer with the receiving sheet is enhanced, whereby no air heat-insulating layer is permitted to exist therebetween, so that thermal sensitivity is enhanced. The plasticizer may be methyl abietate, triethyl citrate, dioctyl fumarate, butyl laurate, n-butyl maleate, methyl oleate, aluminum stearate, diethyl tartrate, dinonylnaphthalene, chlorinated paraffin, polyvinyl methyl ether, 2-nitrobiphenyl, glycerol triacetate or the like. |
