PURPOSE:To constitute the title roll so that a letter and symbol from a copy become easily legible and economical for a reading roll for a facsimile, by a method wherein a black conductive rubber layer containing carbon is provided on a shaft and then a white conductive silicone rubber tube containing tin oxide and/or zinc oxide and titanium oxide is applied on the surface of the rubber layer. CONSTITUTION:A black rubber roll is manufactured by a method wherein a primer is applied to the surface of a metallic shaft and after a silicone rubber compound obtained by adding carbon black and a vulcanizer of an organic peroxide to silicone crude rubber available on the market is made into a silicone rubber molded body by performing press molding under heating and pressurization, abrasive finishing is performed. The diameter of a white conductive silicone rubber tube is made narrower than the outside diameter of a black rubber roll preferably by 0.5% by performing extrusion molding of a silicone rubber compound obtained by adding preferably tin oxide, powder of titanium oxide as a white conductive filler and a vulcanizer of an organic peroxide for extrusion vulcanization to the silicone crude rubber.
