PURPOSE:To enable the emission of laser beams having a wavelength depending upon voltage by forming a laser resonance mirror on the edge face of a Josephson junction type element in which an insulating film is shaped between a pair of superconducting materials. CONSTITUTION:Three sides of the end section of a Josephson junction type element in which an insulator layer 2 capable of flowing tunnel currents is shaped between first and second high Tc (higher than 75K) oxide superconductors 1, 3 are surrounded by a laser resonance mirror 12, and a half mirror 11 is mounted at another one end section. When high voltage is applied to voltage supply terminals 15, 16, beams emitted in the superconductors 1, 3 are reflected by mirrors 11, 12, and laser beams having a wavelength determined by applied voltage under a critical condition are projected through the half mirror 11. |
