The invention presented here is a method and apparatus for treating fibre suspension. This method and apparatus fit especially well into machine sieving of fibre suspension arriving into the rear box of a paper machine. In previously manufactured sieving machines the acceptance pulp is coagulated or diluted, the distribution of pulp fractions is changed and sieving machines have caused pulses into acceptance pulp. To alleviate these problems a new type of rotor (7) has been developed so that it can be used in conjunction with a sieve drum, where different sized bulges (10 - 40) are arranged into its sieve drum facing surface which also keeps sieve drum (6) clean and affects the axial flow of the fibre suspension.<IMAGE>
