PURPOSE:To enable the construction of a pump to be simple by providing one exhaust port for discharging liquid from a pump body to the outside and the other exhaust port for introducing liquid into a pressure regulating valve in a second pump-cover. CONSTITUTION:Fuel sucked into a pump chamber 19 from an inlet port 16 by the rotation of an impeller 18 through a motor 10 is further pressurized by the rotation of the impeller 18 and supplied through a cavity 1A from a first exhaust port 51A of a second-cover 51 to an engine, etc. When the fuel is pressurized above a fixed pressure by the rotation of the impeller 18, a spring 104 yields to the pressure to be compressed, a pressure regulating valve 103 closing a pressure regulating port 105B is opened, and an excessive fuel is returned to a fuel tank from a return port 105C. As a result, the pressure, that is, the flow rate of the fuel discharged from the first exhaust port 51A is kept constant. Since both the exhaust ports 51A and 51C are provided in the pump-cover 51, the construction of the fuel pump becomes simple, and the assembling process can therefore be simplified.
