PURPOSE:To shield light from irradiating eyes of a passenger in particular and to sustain a light shield member always in an optimum posture by driving the light shield member in accordance with the entering direction of the light when the entering of the light into the passenger compartment is detected. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle has a light shield member such as a sunvisor or the like adapted to be installed in an onboard aperture section such as a front window or the like. In this arrangement, there is provided a means SEN for detecting the direction of entering of light such as the sunlight or the like with respect to the onboard aperture section. Further, there is provided a means 2 for detecting the presence of a passenger sitting on an onboard seat. There are also provided means Mtr1 through Mtr4 for driving the light shield member. Further, there is provided a means 1 for controlling the means Mtr1 through Mtr4 for driving the light shield member in accordance with the entering direction of light detected by the means SEN when light enters into the onboard aperture section and a passenger sits on the onboard seat. With this arrangement, the posture of the light shield member is set so as to shield the light from irradiating the eyes of the passenger in particular.
