PURPOSE:To increase corrosion resistance by coating a cylinder body of a base body to constitute a rotating/stationary cylinder with a thin wear resistant film consisting of a metal, ceramics or thermoplastic resin. CONSTITUTION:The cylinder body 1 integrally formed with a boss part 2 and a ring part 3 is formed of an arbitrary stock such as metal, ceramics or thermoplastic resin with high accuracy by suitable working means, such as forging, cold forging, sintering, molding and machining, suitable for said stock. A metal such as, for example, titanium or stainless steel, having high wear resistance is formed by vacuum deposition on the outer circumference of the formed ring part 3 or if the stock of the cylinder body 1 is platably constituted, a thin metallic film forming layer 5 having wear resistance is formed by plating in a manner as to form a surface 4 for sliding with a tape and a thin metallic film layer 6 is formed on the outside surface of the cylinder body 1; this layer formation is executed simultaneously by the same operation.
