PURPOSE:To improve the startability by executing the symultaneous fuel injection into each of cylinders for the specified period after a cold engine starts. CONSTITUTION:A fuel injection valve 5 is provided for each of cylinders and fuel is injected individually for each of the cylinders or in unit of a group of cylinders. The starter signal from a starter motor 18 and the cooling water temperature signal from a water temperature sensor 12 are sent to a controller 9 and when a cold engine start is executed, that is, when the engine temperature is under the specified value and a starter signal is generated, the starting control mode in which fuel is injected symultaneously in each of cylinder is applied and the starting control mode continues for the specified period after the starter signal is extinguished. Thus overlean of fuel is prevented when the cold engine is started and the startability can be improved.
