PURPOSE:To operate an engine under trace knock condition at all times by providing a detector for detecting temperature variation in a combustion chamber upon occurrence of knocking and a means for correcting ignition timing in the combustion chamber corresponding to the intensity of knocking. CONSTITUTION:A detector 2 for detecting temperature variation in a combustion chamber 1 upon occurrence of knocking is arranged in the combustion chamber 1 of engine. A signal detected through the detector 2 is inputted through a light transmission element 3 to a band pass filter 4. Output terminals of a photoreceptor 5 are connected with input terminals of a shaper circuit 6. An ignition timing correcting means 7 for correcting ignition timing in the combustion chamber based on an output signal from the shaper circuit 6 is provided. Consequently, the engine operates under trace knock condition at all times thus providing a high efficient output. |
