The appts. includes a time calculator and a distance calculator, and are connected to the vehicle so that prior to the latter starting they have a zero status. They both enter into function as soon as the vehicle commences movement, and cease calculation when a changeover switch is activated manually by the vehicle driver. At that moment, the time taken, the distance covered are determined and indicated. From the time and distance shown, a further calculator unit calculates the average speed, which is then also displayed on the indicator. It is also possible for the appts. to indicate continuously the distance being covered, the time taken and the average speed. - The appts. is connected to the wheels of the vehicle, and when they start to rotate pulses are emitted by a time generator for calculation by a time calculator at the same time as distance pulses are calculated by a distance calculator.
