PURPOSE:To increase reproduction output by inclining the columnar crystals of a 'SENDUST(R)' film in the direction facing a gap or the opposite direction thereof with respect to a substrate surface on the slope of the recess of a half split body. CONSTITUTION:This core is constituted of the half split bodies 11 and 12. The half split body 11 has the recess 13. The 'SENDUST(R)' films 14, 15 are deposited on the joint surfaces of the half split bodies 11, 12 and these surfaces are joined to each other. One of the joint surfaces of the core constitutes the magnetic gap 17. The columnar crystals which are approximately perpendicular to the surface of the half split body 11 are adequate for the gap part 17. The columnar crystals inclined in the direction facing the gap part 17 or the opposite direction thereof with respect to the surface of the half split body are adequate for the slope 13a of the recess 13. The magnetic permeability in the intra-film direction of the film 14 is thereby increased. The reproduction output of the magnetic head is, therefore, increased.
