Method and device for manufacturing cottage cheese

The subject of this invention is a method and device for manufacturing cottage cheese. The first phase of manufacturing is the separation of serum from cheese granules in cheese kettle (1). According to this invention, the serum and cheese granule mixture is pumped for continued handling from the cheese kettle (1) into a separate machine which is formed by a tiltable and essentially cylindrical drum (2) with a sieve surface. Simultaneously, the cheese kettle (1) is freed in order to process the next batch. In the drum (2), the removal of serum, washing of cheese granules and addition of cream or other additives is accomplished when the drum is rotated in tilted position around its axle. Finished cottage cheese is dumped from the drum (2) onto a conveyor belt (8) leading to the packing machine (3) or straight to the packing machine.<IMAGE>
