A method for producing a contact sleeve (11) for a fibre optical light conductor. The sleeve serves as a connecting member at axial, mechanical interconnection of two light conductor cables. The purposes is to provide a method by which the very thin optofibre can be arranged concentrically in the contact sleeve intended to be interconnected with the connecting member. This task has been solved in that the sleeve (11) is drawn from a sheet metal blank, and during the drawing operation is inserted a drift in the sleeve, which drift is equipped with a concentric tip, which in the end portion (12) of the sleeve makes a tapering depression (15) deeper than its sheet metal thickness, thus that on the outer side is formed a pressed out top (16). The top (16) is subsequently severed and the hole (17) thereby formed is used for aligning the sleeve in a lathe machine. |
