PURPOSE:To clean air in a room by providing air flow generating means for producing an air flow in the vicinity of a detector in response to an electric signal of the detector. CONSTITUTION:A detector 1 has a light emitting element 1B and a photoreceptor 1c in a case 1A, and the element 1C increases the quantity of reaching light from the element 1B when particles of smoke of a cigarette scatter. In the detector 1, an electric signal opto-electrically converted by the element 1C is applied to an amplifier 2, amplified, smoothed and compared with a reference signal. An air cleaner 4 produces an air stream by a motor driven blower 4A when a DC power source is applied to a line 5. In this manner, the contamination of the air in a compartment of a vehicle is detected by the detector in a high sensitivity to reliably clean the air. |
