PURPOSE:To easily detect a defect part of a honeycomb adhesion structure which has a curved surface and plate thickness variation such as an aircraft even by an unskilled worker by comparing the correction output of AGC with the correction output of AGC as to a reference test body. CONSTITUTION:Pulses from a pulser 21 are converted by a transmitting contactor 2 into an ultrasonic wave 6, which is transmitted through the sound reference test body 20 and converted by a receiving probe 3. Then variations of the outputs signals of the probes 2 and 3 when they scans a curved surface part 14 are compensated by an AGC 23 at all times and the amplitude of a transmission signal 25 on a monitor 24 becomes invariably constant. Further, the compensation output of the AGC 23 is stored in a memory 27 together with an X-Y position signal from a position sensor 26 fitted to the probe. When a body to be tested is abnormal, the output of the AGC 23 is compared with the signal in the memory 27 by a comparing circuit 32 and their difference is displayed as an output 34. |
