REMOTE INSTRUCTION INPUT DEVICE

PURPOSE:To detect and input the coordinates of an optional specific position by measuring time required for the arrival of sounds generated from sounding bodies at reception elements and finding out the coordinates of the specific position from the measured time with operation. CONSTITUTION:Impulse sound waves generated from two sound generating bodies 2, 3 arranged on a remote instruction rod 1 along the instructing direction of the instruction rod 1 time-dividedly through an oscillator 3 are received by three reception elements 8-10 arranged in the vicinity of a picture display screen 11 to be a coordinate face. Respective transmission time values are measured by timer devices 15-17. The positions of the sounding bodies 2, 3 arranged on the instruction rod 1 are calculated from the transmission time values obtained by the measured results and the positional coordinates of the specific point on the display screen 11 indicated by the instruction rod 1 are calculated. The calculated coordinate position can be easily inputted to a host computer.
