PURPOSE:To facilitate the reproduction of various setting conditions reliably, by providing an optical reading mechanism for optically reading printed identification marks and setting a memory again thus reproducing processing conditions of print and/or control information. CONSTITUTION:A control mechanism 13 processes print/control information fed from an external device according to the content of setting conditions stored in a memory 16, then feeds processed information to a printing mechanism 11 and prints the processed information. Consequently, the control mechanism 13 prints identification marks 17 such as bar codes corresponding to the content of setting conditions stored in the memory 16 onto a recording material 12. An optical read-out device 18 is connected to the control mechanism 13. When the setting conditions are reproduced, necessary one is selected from among many printed identification marks 17, 17 representing various setting conditions and inserted into the optical read-out device 18 so as to write the setting conditions interpreted from the identification marks 17 into the memory 16 on the control mechanism 13. Thereafter, the control mechanism 13 processes print/control information fed from an external device based on the reproduced setting conditions so as to print the print/control information through a printing mechanism 11. Consequently, setting conditions can be reproduced easily and reliably.
