PURPOSE:To enable execution of ideal printing prevented from displacement in a position, by a method wherein, based on a difference by means of which the running position of a first object at a given point of time and a theoretical position are detected, the theoretical initial uniform motion running distance of a second object is corrected by adding control. CONSTITUTION:When a reference line A' on the printing drum of an offset printer is moved to a position 93 mm away from a confluence O, with a stepping motor STM driven, movement of a paper is started by means of a feed claw (h) to perform initial uniform motion. When a forward edge B' of the paper is detected by a position sensor PS, theoretical position A' is moved to a position 65 mm away from the confluence O. However, practically in case there are ununiformity in size of a paper, a clearance of gears (e), (f), a gap between a feed claw (h) and the forward edge B', the forward edge B' is moved in a delay to the sensor PS. As a result, since an object A is displaced by + or - X, calculation is made by a CPU. By changing a running distance of x2 to x2+ or - x, when the forward edge B' is moved to the confluence O, the reference line A' is also moved to the confluence O.
