PROCESS FOR PRODUCING NEW QINALDINAMIDE DERIVATIVES

Quinaldic acid amide derivs. (I) and their acid addn. salts are new (where R1 and R2 are each lower alkyl, or R1 and R2 together with adjacent N are 5- to 7-membered ring; X is H, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy). - Prodn. of (I) comprises reacting quinaldic acid (II) or its activated deriv. (e.g. acid halide, mixed anhydride, acid anhydride, active ester) with cpd. (III) 1,3 diamino-1-phenyl propane deriv. and opt. converting the resultant prod. into its acid addn. salt. The reaction of (II) with (III) is effected in the presence of a condensing agent (e.g. dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCC), DCC-N-hydroxysuccinimide, DCC-1-hydroxybenzotriazole).
