PURPOSE:To protect a belt and a conveyed article from rainwater by superposing a strip holding belt on the outside of a flat belt at part of a travel passage, and making both these belts so as to be kept in a pipe form simultaneously with travel motion, in case of the flat belt conveying the article between warehouses outdoors. CONSTITUTION:When a flat belt 1 is run, a holding belt being overlapped with this flat belt 1 also runs together by frictional force, and a belt 1a is rounded in pipe form together with the holding belt 6 by first and second rounding frames 7 and 8 and a rounding roller 10. It is kept in the pipe form by a form keeping roller 12 of a form keeping frame 9. On the other hand, the belt 1a is expanded by this reverse procedure. Thus, since the flat belt is conveyed as carrying in by the holding belt, the flat belt and a conveyed article both can be protected from rainwater.
