Currently, in lasers which use lamps in the optical pump chambers, the lamps are inserted or removed manually. Since they are fragile components, being made of fine glasswork with an internal gas having a pressure which may be high, their handling is tricky and requires great care and attention from the operator. This manual operation which is relatively lengthy, is not at all suited to the industrial exploitation of lasers and laser machines. The invention relates to a device for automatically changing lamps for the optical pump chambers of lasers, comprising: a cassette which possesses the lamps, the mechanical structure equipped with a slide designed to receive the cassette, the motorised device which holds and puts the lamp back into the cassette, the mechanism which inserts the lamp into and removes it from the optical chamber, the sockets which provide for the electrical connection of the lamps, on the anode side and on the cathode side, the safety measures, the mechanisms, the cycle and procedure for operation, and the computer configuration for the laser which manages this peripheral.
