PURPOSE:To improve the preservable property of a recording film by forming a protective film having weatherability on the recording layer of a DRAW type optical recording medium on which information is written by a heat mode. CONSTITUTION:The information is written on the DRAW type optical recording medium and the protective film 4 consisting of an org. material or the protective film 4 consisting of an inorg. material is formed on the recording layer 3 with which the writing of the information is completed, by which the deterioration (oxidation) of the recording layer 3 is prevented and the breakdown of the recording layer 3 even by long-term reproduction with the same tracks is obviated. The essential requirements for the protective film 4 protecting the recording layer 3 of the DRAW type optical recording medium include low reflectivity in addition to the high protective effect of the recording layer 3. High-polymer materials such as polytetrafluoroethylene PTFE and UV curing resins (UV resins) and inorg. materials such as SiO2, MgF2 and GeO2 are adequate for said film in the above-mentioned respects. |
