PURPOSE:To obtain a silver halide photographic sensitive material generating scarcely fog and having high sensitivity adding a spectral sensitizing dye prior to a desalting stage in the process for prepg. silver halide emulsion particles after finishing the addition of at least 85wt.% of soluble Ag salt soln. CONSTITUTION:Silver chlorobromide or silver chloride contg. substantially no AgI is used. The prepn. process consists of a stage for forming silver halide particles in the presence of hydrophilic colloid, a physical aging stage, desalting stage, and chemical aging stage. In addition, a photographic sensitizing dye is added prior to the desalting stage after the addition of at least 85wt.% of soluble silver salt soln. basing on the amt. necessary for the formation of silver halide particles. By this constitution, high sensitivity is imparted to a silver chlorobromide emulsion having a high AgCl content while reducing the tendency of generating fog remarkably. |
